Progress of our patients is tracked through monthly appointments with both the counselor and physician.
During the monthly visit the patient will also take a urine drug test to assure that they are taking their medication, and that they are no longer taking any controlled substances or illegal drugs. The physician will talk to them about any issues they are having with triggers and cravings, if they are having any withdrawal symptoms, and how the patient thinks they are doing with their treatment.
As treatment progresses, tapering off the medication will also be discussed. Our counselors focus on teaching coping mechanisms, trigger avoidance, and how to repair relationships they have hurt while being addicted.
